DOCTOR BIOS DR. DOUGLAS JENSEN A lifelong Texan, Dr. Jensen was raised in Dallas. He left Texas briefly to attend college at Brigham Young University, obtaining a B.S. in zoology. Dr Jensen went on to learn dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry. After the basics, he sought to obtain extensive additional training in prosthodontics at UTHSCSA, a program that put him in the thick of a world that emphasizes the utilization of the latest technology and the concept of interdisciplinary care, or working together as professionals to provide the absolute highest level of treatment expedient for patients. It was there that he became accomplished in the art of beautiful smile design. He believes that one of the best ways to rehabilitate some patients is to actually reposition teeth into their proper position, thereby minimizing the need for prosthodontic treatment. Dr. Jensen subsequently was motivated to join only a handful of existing clinicians in the nation who are specialized in both orthodontics and prosthodontics; and in no way is he a stranger to performing properly sequenced full-mouth rehabilitations ranging to the most perplexing of dental problems. Dr. Jensen was the chief resident of his combined prosthodontic/orthodontic program. He is very personable and demonstrates a genuine interest in and concern for his patients. He is a member of various dental, prosthodontic, and orthodontic professional associations such as the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American College of Prosthodontics, Texas Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Dental Research. Dr. Jensen is currently finishing work on a MS degree with his involvement in research related to the utility of the latest imaging technology: cone beam computed tomography. He is currently working toward becoming board certified in both orthodontics and prosthodontics. Dr. Jensen has many interests outside of dentistry. He enjoys spending time with his family, flying, traveling, Boy Scouts (he is an Eagle Scout), church, music, and sports. |
