STAFF BIOS
TAMMY LONG
I have been working in the orthodontic field for approximately 20yrs. I have been working with Dr. Wise since 1992. The two "most" important highlights of my job are: Most of the Wise team have been together for quite some time. We have been able to learn so much from each other and grow as a great team! The 2nd is our POA (personal orthodontic assistant) program, which involves each of us, as assistants, working with an assigned patient and staying with that patient from the beginning impression appointment, through putting braces on, and continuing with them until their treatment is complete. The greatest benefit of this program is getting to know the patients (really knowing them) on a one on one personal basis. It's a comfort thing, and that's what our office is all about- being there for our patients and making them as comfortable as possible throughout one of the most important phases of their lives! Something that goes hand in hand with the importance of the POA program and getting to know the patients so well, is the appreciation, hugs and smiles you get from them on a very regular basis. That is what tells me each and every day that I made the right choice 20 years ago to go into this field and do what I do!

I graduated from Prairie du Chien High School, a small school in Wisconsin. I went to Western Wisconsin Technical College right out of High School for the Dental Assisting Program, and graduated with honors in June of 1987. Most of my family are still in Wisconsin, but I try to get back as often as I can to visit! I have a 15yr old son, Tyler, who is very artistically talented. He is also active in tennis at McKinney Boyd High School, and has recently started a job of his own, and is learning well that it is a big thing to be responsible!

"The part of my job I love the most is working as a Patient Manager, which means I work personally with the same patients on a regular basis..."
